Trading Standards Approved is the accreditation that qualifying businesses can use having been vetted then checked, by at least one Trading Standards Service and approved by trading standards professionals. This is operated in accordance with the Local Authority Assured Trader Scheme Network  (LAATSN) standard, which is incorporated into the code of practice that businesses are committed too and sets out the requirements for treat customers fairly and in accordance with the law. Businesses must strive to continuously deliver excellence in customer service and resolve any disputes should they arise.

We work with local authority Trading Standards Services to deliver a joined up Trading Standards Approved Business Network that maintains its local connections. The benefits extend to all stakeholders including Trading Standards Services, our trading partners, charities, third sector organisations, businesses and most importantly, consumers.

Business Approval Ltd support local authority Trading Standards Services by delivering the Business Approval Register and providing  a source of Checked and Vetted  and Trading Standards Approved business that consumers can trust to deliver quality services.

The Business Approval Team consists of Trading Standards professionals that have built relationships with local Trading Standards Services for a number of years and work with them to deliver advice, training and improved business compliance.

Business Approval Ltd recognises the importance of working in partnership with local authorities, businesses and other organisations to increase the number of Trading Standards Approved businesses and the consistency of standards. Our aim is to raise awareness of the availability of Trading Standards Approved businesses to the public, through our relationships. Trading Standards Services can support what we do and work with us to offer customers a service that is better promoted and provides an improved choice of trusted businesses and protection to consumers, at no cost to the local authority.
